The Cover We Chose Seems To be Working!!

Hey everyone/and hopefully NEW Barnshaker Fans!!
We were really conflicted about putting a cover on our new album. First of all if you do it right you don't get a dime from it, that's why our CD is only $8.61, because we chose the right thing to do and not collect any royalties for the song.
The song we chose was off of one of my all-time favorite albums by Bruce Springsteen! It is called Meeting Across The River. That song ,although not probably one of the biggest songs from that Cd obviously moved me tremendously. Clarence's moody sax intro, to Roy Bittan's beautiful piano passage always gets me.
Well we re-worked that song, so it is probably not recognizable to the average fan, so I think we can call it our own. But the crazy thing is, people are digging our version. We have had a lot of positive feedback from that and that makes me feel good. It is the most stripped down songs on our album. It is simply, my guitar, a squeeze box, masterfully played by Brother Cleve an upright bass and some brush drums also done by my foil Ed Reimer, who is so talented it is beyond belief!
Check out our version on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon mp3 or Google Play!
As a matter of fact check out the whole album, we are getting a lot of positive feedback from Jango radio stations associated with the Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker and Keith Urban along with Tom Petty and Elvis Costello!! Go figure..
Anyway, check it out when you have a moment, and we'd greatly appreciate your support by buying the album or at least a few songs!!
Thanks,

Get Our New Release! It's All About The Fans!

Hi All you future Barnshaker Fans!!
This is just a little update for everyone that has been following us and the power of Tunecore and Jango  internet radio!
We have just released our 3rd song on Jango radio from our release The Barn Sessions which is available through all the tunecore platforms. It seems the most popular sites are obviously iTunes, but, Spotify, Google Play, Amazom MP3 and CD Baby have been huge for us also.
The new song is a mid-tempo slide guitar driven rock tune and since going live 3 days ago, we have picked up 35 NEW Fans! I don't know about you, but an indie band that manages ourselves, this has been a huge boost to our visibility. I have had no problems with tunecore, except when we signed up we didn't realize you don't get your money from all songs purchased for 60 days, which I think is a little slow! As far as Jango radio you can customize your songs to different artists stations, so tyou get to target the genre of music that you think fits the tune! This is a great feature and it also gives you analytics about what your fans are also listening to, which is an invaluable tool. For instance, our song, On The Road(which is on the album) we got a ton of fans who also love Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Rascal Flatts! So you get to target your audience, pretty cool.
The new song is called Puzzles, Worry & Wonder and it is doing great as I have said. We personally reply to every single one of our fans and ask them to spread the word and visit our Facebook Fanpage for Joe Leary & The Barnshaker's. It also gives you the ability to send friend requests through Facebook too, which is another great way to keep in touch and increase your visibility to your fans and hopefully their friends.
Anyway, we are presently setting up gigs for the fall and we have gotten a lot of pretty good gigs by implementing this simple guerilla marketing thing we have been doing. So please check out our album, Joe Leary & The Barnshaker's- The Barn Sessions and please sign up for our email list so we can keep you up to date on where we maybe playing in the fall, plus some other interesting bits of who each one of us are and where we all came from.  The more people know about you, it seems the more they feel connected, it is just simple common sense. So keep on listening, and if you haven't already, check out the album it costs less than a MacDonalds meal, and certainly won't give you the heartburn you get with that!! Thanks for reading and please keep following us and reading this blog, we really do appreciate it!

The Planets Have Aligned?

Hey, this is Joe Leary from Joe Leary & The Barnshaker's!!
This is a little update on our new release available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon MP3, Cd Baby and a whole lot more!!
We have had 2 songs on Jango internet radio for awhile now and man are they picking up steam!!!
The 2 songs so far are "On The Road" and "Fade To Blue"! Both on the new release but i have to tell you we have gotten 100 fans in the last 7 days!!! Now I don't know about you, but to me that is damn good for a band that isn't known from atom and people are hearing this stuff on stations that cover their favorite artist from Keith Urban and Zach Brown Band to Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
What does that tell me? Well it tells me that our music crosses boundaries, which is huge for me!! or us I should say! We are as successful in the rock/country segment as we are in the rock n roll segment!
But I really don't give a shit because in my mind a good song is a good song and that targeting or whatever the f it is called nowadays is baloney anyway! What it tells us is people are digging our stuff and that is all that matters, and that's the truth! So you should really check out our new release because it is really good and we are really proud of it, and I think there is something for almost everyone in there! The Cd again is called The Barn Sessions and just plug in our name in the search box of those sights and it will come up.
I will tell you the next song we are throwing at the radio is called Puzzles, Worry and Wonder and it is totally different than the other 2 but still Barnshaker music! Does that make sense? Well it does to me, because these guys I am lucky enough to play with are some of the best collection of musician's in the Boston area. Everyone of them have been in huge Boston bands and everyone of them are so talented it is just ridiculous. I bring songs in and they have them sounding like, well, incredible songs after they figure out the chord progressions! I never ever have to tell any one of them what to play and that is special. They just add their mark and it is always just right. A rare thing in the music industry, a very rare thing!! So give us a listen, we are getting some momentum and again we manage ourselves and record and produce ourselves. Go to those websites and give us a listen. Leave your comments, visit our Facebook fanpage and leave a comment or a like! You will be heard and you will get a personal response!! That's all for now from Joe Leary & The Barnshaker's!!! remember we manage ourselves so for bookings get in touch with me @ jleary60@hotmail.com, we play for anyone and everyone!!!
